I am Pankaj Khanna, 61 yrs, B.E.Mech (1983 Batch) from SGSITS Indore. Have Corporate Experience of 24 years and CAT Training Experience of 16 years. Have been training CAT aspirants in the areas of Maths and DI/LR since 2007. Have also been training students sporadically on Verbal Ability, Personality Development and Personal Interview.
This blog CAT-a-LOG, a catalogue for CAT, is an attempt to create an effective LOG for CAT Preparation. Here, we are going to discuss all aspects of CAT from deciding to go for Coaching or not to initial Counselling for selection of a Coaching Institute to the Final Preparation of GD-PI for IIMs and other Top B Schools.
This blog is primarily being written to warn a vast majority of students ( almost 90% of the enrolled students in any Coaching Institute) not to start preparing for CAT due to the hype created by the Coaching Institutes. It is imperative to understand all aspects of CAT and the reality of the Coaching Institutes before paying fees to any Coaching Institute.
Students and their Parents are requested to kindly go through all the articles written in First two sections before making any decision to join any Coaching Institute. Links of all these articles written are given below.
This blog is also meant for Students and Working Executives who wish to prepare for CAT on their own without spending their time, energy and hard-earned money on Coaching Institutes. However it will also be useful to those students who go to Coaching Institutes of their choice.
This blog will be useful for students preparing for CAT 2024 and subsequent years, though students preparing for CAT 2023 may also be benefitted by these blog posts especially during GD/PI stage.
Approximately 40% students do appear in the CAT next year too. So many CAT aspirants of 2023 are going to appear in CAT 2024 too. They may also be benefited by this blog.
The ultimate aim of the blog is to help students to be self-reliant in line with the Nation's new-found policy of self-reliance or आत्म निर्भरता. The self-reliance will lead the students to become great Self-Mentors.
Continuous Counselling will be provided to such students to help them first achieve the target of becoming Self-Mentors and then to clear CAT.
A Word of Caution regarding Counselling: Counselling for 15 to 30 minutes by the charming and competent Sales Girls (designated cleaverly as Counselors) of a Coaching Institute with the sole objective of enticing students to the Coaching Institute; will be in sheer contrast to the proposed Continuous Counselling for several days to be done by this CAT Trainer.
If you don't have time for such a long counselling and you are happy with 15-30 minutes counselling by the Coaching Institutes' Sales Girls; please don't read any further. Save your time!
