Article(22) CAT-a-LOG: Why not You-tube Channel for Training/Mentoring?
(Click here for the next or previous articles:
Have received a few suggestions from students about making a You-tube channel and uploading video lectures on different topics.
While this suggestion is very good, would like to accentuate that primarily efforts are being made to wean away CAT aspirants from Coaching Classes to make them Self-reliant and self-mentors.
There are already plethora of very good basic videos available on you-tube almost on all topics and all subject areas. Would certainly provide Links of some of these videos Dec 2023 onwards.
Additionally, I may record and upload short and concise videos only on short cuts for a few topics after March 2024, as we are preparing for CAT2024 and onwards.
Now let us discuss the reasons for choosing to write a blog than to upload videos on You-tube:
(1) The foremost reason for resorting to Blog is that a student preparing for CAT on his own can view all the articles written in this blog from any article by just glancing over the list of topics and then a click. These articles have been grouped in various Sections, like a book and like a web-site for easier navigation. You look any blog post and you will have the fair idea of the whole blog.
It will definitely help Students, Parents and others to choose articles of their choice and read them peacefully without going through 'n' number of videos to listen to a particular point. Thus, this will definitely help in saving lot of precious time for CAT aspirants.
(2) The second equally important reason is that CAT-IIM aspirants have to read a lot to prepare for Reading Comprehension in VARC section. You may kindly consider these articles or blog posts as RC passages. So you get so many RC passages additionally:)
The time spent on reading is much more meaningful than time spent on Youtube, from CAT point of view:)
The language of the the initial articles has been kept very easy in the first four Sections A,B,C and D. As we proceed further in our preparation for CAT, the difficulty level of English language will be raised gradually, in view of the Section on VARC.
The students who believe in self-mentoring and self-studies will agree that it is really time consuming to go through so many videos.
If you find it cumbersome to go through such simple articles, then please forget the VARC section of CAT.
Positive comments or bouquets are most welcome on my WhatsApp number. 🤗👍
Bricks and stones are also welcome! Planning to construct a house!! 😀🙏
